Friday 20 January 2012, the ITT International Leadership Program 2012 started for the third year after repeated success. This morning, Prof. Dr. Haico Ebbers (Director Europe China Institute from Nyenrode) and ITT welcomed 14 candidates from amonghst others the Dutch Polymer Institute, TU Delft, DSM and Inspraakorgaan Chinezen. This weekend the the first module ‘Recognizing cross-culture differences’ takes place. The three day module is designed to improve participants’ cross-cultural skills and learn to understand the complexity of cross-cultural contexts which addresses practical models for understanding cultural differences.

During a debate module organized by ITT on December 2 and 3 at D66 in the Hague, the InspraakOrgaan Chinezen (IOC) selected five candidates to attend the ITT Intercultural Leadership Program for Asian professionals 2012 at Nyenrode Business University. IOC wants to stimulate political participation for Chinese in the Netherlands. For this reason the IOC gives these five selected professionals with serious political interests the opportunity to participate in the intensive program at Nyenrode.

The ITT Intercultural Leadership Program for Asian Professionals is now taking registrations for the Class 2012 intake. The programme is specifically designed for Asian professionals working in the Netherlands. Participants will receive an introduction to Dutch corporate culture, learn about soft skills and communication styles in a Dutch cultural context, and may improve their leadership potential. All five modules combine case studies with role play tasks. The program takes place on weekends at the Nyenrode Business Universiteit.

For the second time International Top Talent and Nyenrode Business University organized the ITT Intercultural Leadership Program for Asian professionals (ITT ILP). On Saturday May 14th, 2011 the last training of this second ITT ILP ended. Professor Haico Ebbers from Europe China Institute Nyenrode Business University handed out certificates to all Asian professionals that successfully finalized the ITT Intercultural Leadership Program.
The ITT Intercultural Leadership Program for Asian Professionals aims to increase the cultural understanding for Asian Professionals in the Netherlands. Engineers, researchers and managers working in China and the Netherlands are amongst the participants. Hui Li, Senior Research Engineer, VectorWise looks back at the program during the drink:
‘‘This program improved my soft skills, especially my communication skills, power and influence in teams. What impresses me most is the role plays & groups sessions. They are practical and eye-opening. The courses are among the most effective courses I have ever attended. It definitely helps me in my professional career.’’

“If you do not have a goal, you can not be effective”, says trainer Jet Centeno, to the Asian professionals joining Module 4 of the ITT Intercultural Leadership Program at Nyenrode Business School. ‘How can I increase my personal effectiveness in a Dutch working environment?’, is one of the key questions to be answered for each of the Asian participants, working at companies like Accenture, Weir Minerals and TU/e. This Module focuses on helping participants to step out of their comfort zone. “The course learns me in a relaxing way the principles of personal effectiveness”, reflects participant Yingyian Li, after receiving the results of her 360 degree assessment.

Class 2010 started the ITT Intercultural Leadership Program for Asian Professionals at Nyenrode Business Universiteit last Friday. Amongst the participants are Asian engineers and researchers from TU Delft, Dutch Polymer Institute, Universityof Twente, Weir Minerals, Vectorwise and Accenture. The class started with a module on how to recognize cross-culture differences. In the next months the class will also cover themes like communicating in a Dutch organization and working succesfully in an international team. The ITT Intercultural Leadership Program for Asian Professionals starts in October 2010 with a new class at Nyenrode Business University, after receiving a high ranking of class 2009. “This course pays attention to the soft skills that are needed to do my job right and improve my career path in Europe”, says an Indian engineer working at IBM when being asked what he learnt from this course. The ITT Intercultural Leadership Program focuses on improving soft skills in team work and communication skills in a Dutch environment. The program is jointly developed by ITT and Nyenrode Business University. Amongst the participants in 2009 were PhD and Post-Docs from DPI, Eindhoven University of Technology and Wageningen University. Expatcenter Amsterdam sponsored a seat for their expat community.
