VCWI Vereniging van Chinese Weterschappers en Ingenieurs

Vereniging van Chinese Wetenschappers en Ingenieurs in Nederland (VCWI) (in English: Association of Chinese Scientists and Engineers in the Netherlands), founded in 1997, is a non-profit, non-political, independent association for highly educated Chinese professionals from different disciplines who are being employed by research institutions, industrial sectors, universities and governmental organizations in the Netherlands, and some professionals having returned to China.

The objective of VCWI is to set up a communication platform for Chinese professionals, for industrial companies as well as government organizations; to help members integrated with local society; to promote Sino-Dutch bilateral exchanges and co-operations in terms of science, technology, education, talents, commercial and business.

Currently, VCWI has 450 registered members, among which 44% holds PhD degrees; the rest holds mostly Master’s degrees. The members increase with about 15% per year. Many VCWI members hold high-level technical and managerial positions in different organizations both in the Netherlands and China.
